Hi, my name is Albert Ungerer. I started my career as a Police Officer in 1992 and my first post was at the State President’s Guard Unit at the uniform branch, after a couple of years of service and additional training, I was posted to the VIP Protection Section within The State President’s Guard Unit.
In 1997 I moved to the Cape Town Harbour station where I worked as a Crime Prevention Officer planning and managing Crime Prevention Operations. After a promotion, I moved into the Intelligence field and found my passion for investigations (intelligence driven investigations).
In 2001 I was awarded the opportunity to move to the West Coast and settled into the Detective Service based in Vredenburg, specializing in fraud investigations.
I left the South African Police Service in 2006 and moved into the Private Security Industry. Here I thrived by bringing in my own version of Estate Management (Internal Investigations on client sites and my own Case Management System) and was rapidly promoted until I was head hunted by ArcelorMittal South Africa.
At ArcelorMittal South Africa, I was also awarded the opportunity to expand my knowledge and experience with regards to Emergency Preparedness. It was (and still is) a very small, though extremely vital field for any large corporation. I was named Emergency Prep Champion of ArcelorMittal Newcastle and with my guidance, the plant scored 5/5 regularly for our external audits. I am able to assist any business in drafting their Emergency Plans, SOP’s, SWP and BCP.
I spent the last few years as the Facility & Services field and specialized in High Value Internal (and external) investigations that I initiated, investigated and then handed over to the South African Police Service (DCPI Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation – also known as The Hawks) for prosecution.
I am a dedicated, honest family man that will only lie about the size of fish that I love to catch.
I am both grateful and humbled by the fact that I have a very highly trained, vastly experienced number of operatives & investigators that work with me as Security Specialists. From ex Gold & Diamond Branch detectives, Commercial Fraud Investigators to Crime Intelligence Operatives.
